A CONVERSATION WITH TRISH MCEVOY

GWYNN’S: What was the inspiration behind starting the Trish McEvoy line and what was your first product?
TRISH MCEVOY: The inspiration behind the Trish McEvoy line was putting the power of effortless beauty application in every person's hands and demystifying beauty. My first product was makeup brushes as there were no luxury makeup brushes available in the United States at that time.

GWYNN’S: What inspired you to develop your signature makeup planners, and how do they fit into a modern beauty routine?
TRISH MCEVOY: What inspired me to design my makeup planner was the Filofax planner that I used to organize my life when I was a young girl. I had my Filofax wherever I went, it kept my calendar, notes, and to-do’s in one place. During a vacation to Italy, I was in the bathroom and had makeup all over the sink. My husband said to me- “There has to be a better way”. I happened to glance over at my Filofax and thought, let's design a vehicle that puts all of my makeup necessities in one place. A modern beauty routine is about simplifying. Just as technology has simplified our lives, our makeup planner simplifies your beauty routine by keeping everything you need in one place—no more searching for products or tools.

GWYNN’S: What is one product you never leave home without?

GWYNN’S: What is your favorite holiday tradition?
TRISH MCEVOY: I love having my friends and family over for the holidays to celebrate the season.

GWYNN’S: How do you like to decorate your space during the holidays?
TRISH MCEVOY: I love decorating with silver and gold accents, adding candles and a few ornaments for a cozy, holiday feel.

GWYNN’S: What’s your go-to holiday makeup look or beauty tip?
TRISH MCEVOY: My beauty tip for the holidays is to add a touch more shimmer on the upper cheekbone and a little more definition on the eyes. Also, nothing beats a beautiful red lip!

GWYNN’S: If you could design a holiday beauty routine for any celebrity, who would it be and why?
TRISH MCEVOY: I would create a holiday beauty routine for Angelina Jolie because I’ve worked with her many times and not only is she beautiful on the outside, but she is so beautiful on the inside. I believe that beauty definitely comes from the inside out and it's always been a joy to work with her.
